In the past I’ve sung the praises of Eric Weinstein’s quality of mind, i.e. his intellectual honesty and rigor pervading eclectic interests that are never monomaniacal. Though its always a pleasure to listen to Eric talk on any topic I want to direct your attention to the Cartesian graph he first mentioned about a year ago on Sam Harris’ show. The explication begins at 1:03:12 and runs to 1:14:18. Eric’s idea gives credence to Michael Freeden’s idea of ideological morphology: that is, there is a great deal of fluidity within and between ideologies and thinkers can and do pass through one ideology to another.
